Wednesday's Speaker: Peter Miller

Peter Miller will be visiting Wednesday's class to discuss his work at Apple Computer and talk about the role that innovation has played in his professional life. Mr. Miller currently serves as a consultant to Vanderbilt Medical Center through the Vanderbilt Center for Better Health.

Words cannot due justice to the breadth of exciting and notable experiences that Mr. Miller has been part of; however, I'll attempt to summarize just a few of them in the bulleted list below:
  • Director of the Mission Support Office of the Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency

  • Founder and CEO of 1010data, Inc., a provider of advanced data mining and analysis services over the Internet

  • Founder and President of ON Technology, Inc a pioneering developer of advanced networked collaborative applications

  • Founder of an internet travel company

  • Partner with John Sculley in a private equity/venture capital business

  • Senior corporate Vice President at Viacom, Inc.

  • Head of Engineering for the Consumer Products Division of Apple

  • Director of Advanced Technology at Lotus Development Corporation

  • Pioneer in bioinformatics at the Harvard School of Public Health and Mt. Sinai Hospital

  • Winner of M.I.T.'s Borden prize for work in computer science and electrical engineering
Mr. Miller will be presenting to the class, but please bring questions about his experiences; there should be time for these afterwards.
