Frogpad: the one-handed keyboard

What if the QWERTY keyboard had never been invented and the modern day keyboard was designed to speed up the process of typing rather than to slow it down.

The frogpad is a bluetooth-enabled keyboard designed for use with one hand; it's both PC and MAC compatible and can be purchased on Amazon.com for $149.

Since it's introduction in 2004, the frogpad hasn't caught on with the same speed that most mobile phone and computer enthusiasts thought it would. It seems logical that people would adopt a device that made typing easier; especially one that claimed to have you typing 60 words per minute after 6-10hrs of training. However, it seems that peoples' willingness to change may be a bigger hurdle than anyone anticipated.

  1. People's willingness to change is probably a big problem. However, the keyboard looks pretty complicated to me, even though it is probably not. I would say that another constraint is that people may not believe that this is actually any easier to use.

  2. I too think it looks complicated, but being a member of the One Armed Bandits, this keyboard would be perfect for our client.
